Anybody tuned in much to the developing theory and such on Practice in archaeology? I'm looking for a good general summary definition, and maybe recommendations on texts or articles that spell things out pretty basically.
It's been pretty quiet on here--this as much a hell semester for everyone else as it's looking for me? Or are there other Sand Hollow II's taking people away from civilization as we know it in 'good ol' Provo?

"my mumness", get it, like my mum ness. She's having a baby....mum. Hahahahahahaha so funny.
wait....Cady is pregnant?
How recent do you want? For a synthesis of Practice theory in Anthropology:
Ortner, Sherry B.
1994 Theory in Anthropology Since the Sixties. In Culture/Power/History: A Reader in Contemporary Social History, N.B. Dirks, G. Eley, and S. Ortner, eds., pp. 372-411. Princeton University Press..
For Archaeology, I would get out one of Clark's recent articles and check the Bib. He seems to pretty much stick with Giddens and Bourdieu though.
I just got a chance to sign online today and I've got to tell you Cady... you will not be bored when that baby comes! It's 9:30 am right now and I have been up since 4:00 am with my little one and I have not yet had breakfast, a shower, or a break. So girl, believe me you will not be bored. Enjoy the craziness of school though, cause motherhood is a whole different kind of craziness :)
Thanks Chris, I was afraid it really was gonna come down to Giddens and Bourdieu...not the easiest reads in the world, but such is life--I'm just trying to fill in some blanks in my overall theoretical understanding. Well, that, and Clark hired me to design the new syllabus for 501/510, so I figure it's only fair that I be able to follow what I'll be putting on it for each theory.
