You like that....by the way...OPA. I'm good.
So those positions that Scott posted about a one-year contract with OPA.....yours truely will be filling one of those positions. Hurrah! I'll be helping run the Sand Hollow excavation during the summer and analysis and write up in the fall and winter. I'm looking forward to working with the bosses again and can't wait to get into the dirt (or sand in this case). I start on Monday. Pretty quick, but I'm way excited. Aaron might even be around.
Now if I could just sell my house. Not to worry, I hear the market is great! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18289082/

Is this going to turn into your dissertation dataset Dave or is North Creek still going? I've got to say that if I wasn't already a year into another project, I would have considered it.
This is how Dave is going to leverage himself into a BYU professorship. Give 'em hell my brother!
Dave, I will be in and out of the project. With you there, my motivation to go down and dig will certainly increase. It sure as hell isn't because of the archaeology. I look forward to the future good times. I've missed having any contemporaries around. Lousy youngsters with no respect for uncle OPA or the bosses.
Does this mean your coursework is over Dave? And you're leaving Vegas for good?
I envy your work ethic my brother. I still have 4 classes left...
My dissertation is going to be focused on Anasazi sandals. North Creek just didn't work out; to many things not under my control left me worrying about getting it done in a timely manner. My class work will be officially done in two weeks! Although I still have comps to take. I'm going to try and take those at the end of the summer.
I'm way stoked about working for OPA, although I am worried about getting my dissertation done before I'm 40. I plan on picking away at it while I'm working for OPA and hopefully be done by the end of 2008.
Leverage, professorship, exxxcellent (said like Mr. Burns). We'll see.
Aaron, looking forward to it man.
Well, Mr. Yoder, welcome to Sand Hollow. From someone who has been there since the beginning, it will be nice to have a fresh face at the dig. Congrats on the OPA gig.
Congrats, Dave!
Maybe now sandals won't be the only thing to bring you to Provo every once in a while
So dave,
Where the hell to you find time to get a full-time job! I tip my hat to you and say "best of luck" and "better you than me." I can barely stay afloat and I applaud your stamina!
As it stands, there is a likely chance I will be at Sand Hollow as well, so if that is the case, see you there!
What do you mean you may be at Sand Hollow?! THat would be SWEEET. But remember Mike, Sand Hollow....this isn't field school.
That's right Mike, we don't want any screw-ups.HA!
