Not to detract from Jenny's recent post about lithic scatters (I will comment soon), but I found a really cool website that allows you to make USPS approved stamps using your own photos.
I think this would be a great way to get some fun images circulating through the nation. Imagine- a "tribute to trowels". Imagine--a FoF stamp or an "OPA-Nouveau" stamp designed Mr. Ure! Finally, imagine a "Great Basin All Stars" series. Once every few months we could get a new one.
The possibilities are endless. A little more expensive, but endless.

Aah, I can see the little stamp collectors now...
Johnny: I'll trade you a Jennings for a Marshalltown Mania.
Steve: No way! The ol' MM's worth a dozen of him atleast! I'm only dealin' if you'll give up your Clear Creek Cover LE.
Aren't they precious!
This would be a good idea if a sheet of 20 stamps was not $10 more than they would normally be. So a .39 cent stamp would be approximately .90 cents. A buck more for a stamp is too much. Let's do this, someone send me one or two pictures of these guys. We already have Janetski, send me some others and I'll see what I can do to produce a rough draft of the trading cards we've always talked about. Then I'll throw them up on a website where you can download them as a PDF.
Oh, yeah, put some of their stats with it as well. For example: seminal paper, theoretical standing, regional focus, maybe a nickname, etc.
After I posted this, I sat down and figured out how much it would cost. Mike, you are right, it's way too much money. Just the thought though....
I think we should come up with a set format for the cards. Like a picture, where they recieved their degree, two or three most famous papers or reports, theoretical background, arch-nemisis, etc.....
We could even assign a couple All-stars to each of use to do so that we get everyone we want without any of use doing the same person.
I like the arch-nemesis thing. What about an origin story?
Like for Dave Madsen:
...From the depths of Danger Cave, a raspy voice shouted the words "Effen-A Jesse, how do you like my re-excavation!!!"...a lanky many emerged wearing nothing but black bikini underwear.
