Do all of you vets of the SW seminar remember Jim talking about the Southwest Symposium?
Apparently Jim is going, and openly invited any interested parties. Since presenting at this symposium is by invitaion only, we would be going as spectators, but it still sounds like it could be fun. There are some interesting topics for discussion.
Take a look:

On a side note, he threw a jab in the direction of the GBAC and other conferences, mentioning that the Southwest Symposium is much more polished and professional due to the "invitation only" nature of the forum.

Yeah, I might be going depending on when my second child decides to come into this world. We'll see.
I'm interested in this one:
Lithic Sources, Color Symbolism, and Perceptions of Landscape in the Northern Southwest
Chris Ward (Geomarine, Inc.)
Sherri, do you know this guy? I guess he could be from one of the other GMI offices.
Cady, this paper might be slightly useful for your thesis.

5:30 pm Cocktails and Food Mixer

I don't know much about her, (her name is Christine, goes by Chris) except that she's a project archaeologist for the El Paso Texas office.
Is "Bones" a reference to the TV program of the same name about a young, sexy, physical anthropologist working with the FBI?
Russ started calling me Bones back in July because he said I was getting too thin and now he calls me it because "Bones" is my new favorite tv show and he said she reminds him of me.
Full Respect
I thought "bones" might refer to your being the Dr. J bone specialist protege! :) Maybe not.
I just read this to Russ and he said (and I quote), "Well its that too, I just don't want it going to your head." Haha, so there you have it, all the reasons why my ever so charming husband likes to call me Bones.
