Northern Periphery Revisited

Mike Searcy has suggested that in five years we organize a symposium at the Great Basin Anthropological Conference entitled "Northern Periphery Revisited" pushing a return of Southwest perspectives to the Fremont.

Start getting your papers ready!

I like it! I think that a possilbe title for the symposium should be something like this:

The Northern Periphery Re-visited:
"No, we're not Kidder-ing"

If we do catch a lot of academic flak and decide to back down, we could use the excuse "Sorry, I was just Kidder-ing"

Of course, I just realized that I am wrong. I think it was actually Steward who coined the term "Northern Periphery".

I guess we could modify the title of the symposium then and call it:

"Stewards of the Southwest, Revisiting the Northern Periphery".

I'll shut-up now.

I've been thinking about it, and this thing should be done in 3 years and not five, at the GBAC after next year's in Vegas.

Even if everyone just does their thesis it would still be awesome. And then we'll put all of the papers together and make an Occasional Paper out of it.

I'm pretty serious about this, so really keep it in mind.
